The Preacher's Wife

A good man overwhelmed by the dire condition of his inner-city Baptist church, Rev. Henry Biggs (Courtney B. Vance) prays for help and gets it in the form of a dapper angel named Dudley (Denzel Washington), who promptly falls for Henry's wife and childhood sweetheart Julia (Whitney Houston). Gregory Hines, Jenifer Lewis, Loretta Devine and Lionel Richie costar in this charming romantic comedy from director Penny Marshall, a remake of the 1947 classic "The Bishop's Wife."
