BAADASSSSS!

Co-writer, director and co-star Mario Van Peebles created this award-winning homage to his father Melvin's pioneering film "Sweet Sweetback's Baadasssss Song," an independent 1971 hit that paved the way for the entire blaxploitation genre, but only after a production fraught with turmoil. David Alan Grier, Nia Long, Saul Rubinek and Rainn Wilson star in the film that critic Roger Ebert calls "one of the best movies I've seen about the making of a movie."
