The Man on the Train

Sixties Gallic pop star Johnny Hallyday ("the French Elvis") and veteran actor Jean Rochefort ("The Hairdresser's Husband") star in this sophisticated drama directed by Patrice Leconte ("Ridicule"). A chance meeting brings together a hard-bitten bank robber (Hallyday) and a retired literature teacher (Rochefort), who each discover in the other the possibility of an alternative destiny. This haunting and elegant tone poem about life and fate was named by both the Los Angeles and Seattle film critics as 2003's Best Foreign Language Film.
