Book of Love

In his feature directorial debut, novelist-turned-filmmaker Alan Brown examines the dynamics set in motion after David and Elaine Walker (Simon Baker and Frances O'Connor) a childless, pleasantly settled couple, befriend Chet Becker (Gregory Smith), a charismatic 15-year-old from the local ice cream shop. Chet, who initially falls into the role of the Walkers' surrogate child, rapidly ascends to play David's rival for Elaine's affections. Brown presents a memorable adult drama about the fragility of contemporary American middle-class life.
