Struggling to make peace with his traumatic Iraq War experiences, a veteran (Ben Foster) reluctantly accepts a new assignment notifying families that a loved one has died in combat, but begins to heal thanks to an understanding mentor (Woody Harrelson) and a romance with a grieving widow (Samantha Morton).
