In order to prevent a deadly Chicago train bombing, a soldier (Jake Gyllenhaal) agrees to an experimental procedure that will send him back in time and into the body of a victim for eight minutes before the blast, in an attempt to head off the attack and discover the identity of the terrorist responsible.
