Miss Firecracker

Libidinous and free-spirited, Yazoo City, Missouri resident Carnelle Scott (Holly Hunter) tries to reform her scandalous ways in order to win the city's annual Fourth of July "Miss Firecracker" beauty pageant, much like her idolized older cousin Elain (Mary Steenburgen) did years earlier, even going so far as to borrow Elain's prize-winning dress. Meanwhile, Elain's brother Delmount (Tim Robbins) schemes to sell the family estate in a get-rich-quick scheme and an old flame of Carnelle's reappears, setting the stage for temptation.
