The Woman in the Fifth

Based on Douglas Kennedy's thriller about American novelist Tom Ricks (Ethan Hawke) as he arrives in Paris determined to renew a relationship with his wife and daughter. When the meeting goes poorly, he ends up in a hostel on the outskirts of the city. Unable to pay for his room, he agrees to work as a guard at a warehouse and spends his hours writing imaginative letters to his daughter. Co-stars Kristin Scott Thomas as a translator whose magnetic presence plays a role in Tom's anxieties and torments deranging his sense of what's real.
