Medicine Man

An eccentric, reclusive scientist (Sean Connery) races against the approach of "civilization" (in the form of bulldozers) to isolate a possible cure for cancer in the Amazonian rain forest, even as a corporate bureaucrat (Lorraine Bracco) arrives with orders to shut his laboratory down. Director John McTiernan ("Die Hard," "The Hunt for Red October") makes lavish visual use of his jungle locations in this compelling action adventure.
