Ten years ago, white South African Colonel Kruger (Nigel Hawthorne) harassed and psychologically tortured an idealistic young university professor (Eric Stoltz) as an accused enemy of the state. But Apartheid's been abolished, and now it's Colonel Kruger who is being cross examined by a black Questioner (Louis Gossett, Jr.) with just enough information about a long-dead university professor to bring years of atrocities to light.
