In addition to Monaghan's work on SHAMELESS, Cameron has recently wrapped lead roles in back-to-back 2014 Weinstein theatrical releases THE GIVER, opposite Jeff Bridges and Meryl Streep, directed by Phillip Noyce, and VAMPIRE ACADEMY, directed by Mark Waters.
In 2013, Monaghan spent six months filming abroad in London and Cape Town. Cameron will next be seen in the starring role in the Carter Smith (THE RUINS) directed feature titled JAMIE MARKS IS DEAD, produced by Alex Orlovsky (BLUE VALENTINE, THE PLACE BEYOND the PINES), which is one of 16 films in the prestigious dramatic competition at Sundance 2014.
Cameron's theatrical debut was in THE MUSIC MAN (2003) as the character Winthrop Paroo opposite Victor Garber, Matthew Broderick, and Kristen Chenoweth. The musical feature film was produced by Neil Meron and Craig Zadan of Storyline Entertainment and distributed by Disney. Ron Howard originally played the role in the 1962 version of THE MUSIC MAN.
Cameron has appeared in a broad range of dramatic and comedic projects, including over a dozen television guest star roles and seven studio films in major roles. His most recent guest lead appearances were in LAW & ORDER: SVU and NCIS. Monaghan was submitted for an Emmy nomination by both productions. Mariska Hargitay was submitted for an Emmy nomination for the same episode of SVU for her scenes with Cameron.
