Sitting at the news desk, Montel is about to announce the winner of American Candidate. Back in their hometowns, Malia and Park are anxiously awaiting the results with their friends and family.
Before Montel announces the winner, he sits down to do a one-on-one interview with Park. Montel notes that Park is not the same person he met back in Keene. Park says, "Having met and seen the people around the country has helped me understand where the country is in a greater sense. It's given me an opportunity to practice what I preach."
Montel also sits down with Malia to chat about how far she has come in this campaign. Malia talks about how "this is not the political game, this is about going to people and getting to the core of politics and people. I think that I am very representative of that."
After his one-on-one interviews with Park and Malia, Montel uncovers lost casting tapes from applicants who never made it on American Candidate. After showcasing the American Candidate rejects, Montel finally announces the American Candidate. With Malia watching in Boston, Massachusetts and Park watching in Stanley, North Carolina, Montel reveals that Park Gillespie is the American Candidate.
After Park wins, he calls Malia, who congratulates him. Park tells Malia, "I'll do what's right, and I'll fight for the things that you and I agree on and hopefully, we'll be friends at the end of the day and I'm so glad we can say that." Malia states, "I was challenged and tested in the most beautiful ways that made me look at myself and the goals I want to reach . This experience was amazing."
Finally, American Candidate Park Gillespie gives his first address to the nation as your American Candidate.
