How It All Began… Adam Glasser was born in Bronx, NY and moved to Los Angeles, CA with his family in his early childhood. After graduating from Santa Monica High School, Adam began running a gym and working as a personal trainer. The gym was hit by difficult financial times and Adam decided to rent out the space for Hollywood film shoots in order to make some extra money to pay the bills. Then one day an adult film producer offered to rent out the gym to shoot a movie. Upon watching what was involved with the production of an adult film, Adam knew he was definitely in the wrong business. The Birth of Seymore Butts… In 1991, shortly after he witnessed the making of an adult film, Adam borrowed a camera and directed his first adult film. After editing it himself, Adam took it to an adult film convention in Las Vegas and found a distributor who wanted Adam to produce and direct films. In order to create an alter ego for himself, Adam chose a name that was not only easy to remember, but reminded him of a playground joke he heard in grade school. In 1992, Seymore Butts was born. Free Speech… Throughout his career, Adam has been a strong proponent of free speech. He's been nominated to the board of "Free-Speech," an organization that lobbies to protect First Amendment rights. As a result of his strong belief in supporting the First Amendment, Adam has endured numerous legal battles. In 1993, while attending a free speech fundraiser at the Pure Pleasure Bookstore in Las Vegas, Nevada, he was arrested and charged with multiple counts of pandering and conspiracy to commit prostitution. All charges were eventually dropped. In 2000, Adam was charged with multiple counts of distributing and pandering obscenity. After two years of legal battles with the City Attorney's office, Adam and his company successfully settled the case. He pleaded guilty to a lesser charge of "disturbing the peace" and paid a $1000 fine. This case was recently profiled on PBS's Frontline. The Business… With over 70 films to his credit, Adam is known as one of the premier creators of gonzo-style adult entertainment. Adam works with his mother, Lila, and his cousin, Stevie. Adam prefers working with his family because he trusts them completely. While Adam admits that there are many pre-conceived notions about the adult film industry, he thinks that people in this business are quite "normal" and are in it for reasons other than just "getting laid." He is rewarded by the impact his films have on people's lives and enjoys teaching them how to please themselves or someone they love.
