Silvio Soldini's gentle comedy follows the fortunes of Rosalba (Licia Maglietta), a neglected middle-aged housewife, who discovers the things missing from her life during an unplanned visit to the most romantic city on earth: Venice. The support of a new community of friends - including a soulful waiter (Bruno Ganz) and holistic beautician (Marina Massironi) - prompts Rosalba to blossom, even as she changes the lives of all those around her. This sweet and endearing fable walked away with nine David di Donatello Awards, Italy's Oscar.
