Description

Robert Mitchum fills the gumshoes of private eye Philip Marlowe in director Michael Winner's adaptation of a Raymond Chandler classic. The action's been relocated from Los Angeles to modern-day England, where Marlowe is hired to protect a young heiress from her own decadence. James Stewart, Sarah Miles, Candy Clark, Richard Boone, Edward Fox, Joan Collins, John Mills and Oliver Reed headline the all-star supporting cast.
