The Pianist

Rated R • 150 minutes

A brilliant pianist in Warsaw witnesses the restrictions Nazis place on Jews in the Polish capital during the occupation in World War II. His family is rounded up and forced to live in a ghetto, then later shipped off to the Nazi labor camps. He manages to escape deportation, with the help of some kind Polish citizens, and eludes capture by living in the ruins of Warsaw. There he struggles to stay alive even when cast away from those he loves.
