Maurice "Mo" Monroe is the self-educated, self-made, self-destructive founder of the Jammer Group, a small Wall Street trading firm made up of all the underdogs that couldn't get hired by the blue blood firms of the 1980s. Dubbed by their fellow Wallstreeters as "the L.A. Don Cheadle
Academy Award nominee Don Cheadle is, without question, one of the most highly sought-after and premier actors of his generation.
Cheadle starred in and executive produced five seasons of the SHOWTIME series HOUSE OF LIES, which earned multiple nominations for the series and Cheadle himself, including four Emmy nominations, an NAACP Image Award and five additional NAACP Image Award nominations, a Golden Globe Award and two additional Golden Globe nominations and a SAG Award nomination.
Cheadle will soon reprise his role of Colonel James Rhodes in the Marvel film AVENGERS: ENDGAME, which is scheduled to be released in April. The character first appeared in the mega-box-office-hit film IRON MAN 2 and subsequently in IRON MAN 3, AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON, CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR and AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR. He is also set to star alongside Lil Rel Howery and Kevin Hart in BLACK STALLIONS, a comedy about rival brother jockeys.
In 2016, Cheadle starred in, directed, co-wrote and produced his first feature film, MILES AHEAD, based on the life of legendary jazz artist Miles Davis. He received an NAACP Image Award nomination and the film won the 2017 Grammy Award for Best Compilation Soundtrack for Visual Media.
A prolific producer, Cheadle produced ST. VINCENT, THE GUARD and TRAITOR. Additional film credits include his breakout performance opposite Denzel Washington in DEVIL IN A BLUE DRESS, TALK TO ME, the Oscar winning Best Picture CRASH, which Cheadle also produced, HOTEL RWANDA, for which his performance garnered Academy Award, Golden Globe, Broadcast Film Critics Award and Screen Actors Guild Award nominations for Best Actor, OCEAN’S ELEVEN, OCEAN’S TWELVE, OCEAN’S THIRTEEN, REIGN OVER ME with Adam Sandler, the Academy Award winning film TRAFFIC, OUT OF SIGHT, BOOGIE NIGHTS, BULWORTH, SWORDFISH, MISSION TO MARS, ROSEWOOD, for which Cheadle earned an NAACP Image Award nomination, FLIGHT, FAMILY MAN, COLORS, HAMBURGER HILL, MANIC AND THINGS BEHIND THE SUN.
On the small screen, Cheadle recently voiced Donald Duck on DUCKTALES. His performance as Sammy Davis Jr. in THE RAT PACK earned him a Golden Globe Award and an Emmy nomination. He earned an Emmy nomination for his starring role in A LESSON BEFORE DYING. Other television credits include REBOUND: THE LEGEND OF EARL ‘THE GOAT’ MANIGAULT, PICKET FENCES, an Emmy nominated guest-starring role on ER and THE GOLDEN PALACE. He also participated in the SHOWTIME® multi-part television event YEARS OF LIVING DANGEROUSLY, about the global effects of climate change.
His philanthropic work includes serving as a U.N. Ambassador for the United Nations Environment Programme. He also produced the documentary film DARFUR NOW, an examination of the genocide in Sudan’s western region of Darfur and, in 2007, he and George Clooney shared a Peace Summit Award at the 8th Annual World Summit of Nobel Peace Prize Laureates in Rome for their work in the region.
