Eric Lange

Veteran actor Eric Lange is soon to be seen in Showtime’s limited event series ESCAPE AT DANNEMORA, set to debut on November 18. Directed and executive produced by Ben Stiller, the series is based on the headline-making true story of a 2015 prison break in upstate New York, which spawned a massive manhunt for two convicted murderers who were aided in their escape by a married female prison employee Tilly Mitchell (Patricia Arquette) with whom they both became sexually entangled. Eric will play the break-out role of Lyle Mitchell, Tilly's husband. In 2019, Lange will co-star opposite Toni Collette in the Netflix limited series UNBELIEVABLE. The series is based on The Marshall Project and ProPublica Pulitzer Prize-winning article, An Unbelievable Story of Rape, written by T. Christian Miller and Ken Armstrong, and the This American Life radio episode about the same case, “Anatomy of Doubt.” He will also appear in Amazon’s THE MAN IN THE HIGH CASTLE.

Lange recently starred in the second and third seasons of Netflix’s critically acclaimed drama NARCOS, playing the CIA station chief who ultimately helped bring down Pablo Escobar and the Colombian drug cartel. He will return in the upcoming companion series NARCOS: MEXICO. Earlier this year, Lange starred in Paramount TV’s event series WACO, based on true events of the Branch Davidians in the 1990’s that resulted in deadly fire. Lange portrayed Ron Engelman, the controversial radio talk show host who chronicled the story.

Lange’s diverse television credits include pivotal roles in the FX drama THE BRIDGE, Showtime’s WEEDS and ABC’s LOST. In film, Lange has co-starred in Taylor Sheridan’s WIND RIVER, Dan Fogelman’s IMAGINE, Disney’s SECRETARIAT and Dan Gilroy’s NIGHTCRAWLER. He also appeared alongside Al Pacino, Susan Sarandon and John Goodman in HBO’s YOU DON’T KNOW JACK, in which he portrayed the attorney who convicted Jack Kevorkian.

Lange has an extensive theatre background. He starred at the Geffen Theatre and in the Broadway production of THE COUNTRY HOUSE at the Manhattan Theatre Club (written by Pulitzer Prize Winner Donald Margulies and opposite Blythe Danner and Daniel Sunjata).  Additional stage performances include DRIVING MISS DAISY at the Rubicon Theatre (Ovation Award nomination), A STREETCAR NAMED DESIRE, also at the Rubicon, UGLY'S FIRST WORLD at the Actors’ Gang, THE NORMAL HEART at the Hudson Backstage Theatre and ASYLUM at the Court Theatre.

In addition to acting, Lange has a passion for music and enjoys singing, songwriting and recording music. He resides in Los Angeles with his family.
