Rafi Gavron

RAFI GAVRON is a British actor who gained international recognition for his breakout performance as the lead role of “Miro” in director Anthony Minghella's film Breaking and Entering, opposite Jude Law, Juliette Binoche, and Robin Wright Penn. His work earned him a 2006 British Independent Film Award nomination for “Most Promising Newcomer On Screen” as well as a 2006 Times South Bank Breakthrough Award nomination for “Most Exciting New Face of 2006.”

Since his debut, Rafi continues to dazzle audiences around the world playing a range of complex characters in both film and television.

This May, Rafi will star in Showtime and Paramount Plus's limited spy drama, Ghosts of Beirut, from executive producers Avi Issacharoff, Lior Raz, Daniel Dreifuss, and Greg Barker. Other recent television work includes two seasons of the 1960s crime drama, Godfather of Harlem opposite Oscar winner, Forest Whitaker; streaming on MGM+, Hulu's horror feature adaptation of Clive Barker's Books of Blood with Anna Friel and Britt Robertson, from executive producer Seth McFarlane. Rafi recurred on HBO's Westworld from executive producers Jonathan Nolan, and Lisa Joy and starred alongside the all-star cast of George Clooney, Kyle Chandler, Hugh Laurie, and Christopher Abbot in Hulu's World War II limited series, CATCH-22 adapted from Joseph Heller's novel. Catch-22 earned nominations from the Hollywood Foreign Press Association for 'Best Limited Series' at 2020 Golden Globe Awards; and earned a nomination from the Critics Choice Awards for best 'Best Limited Series'.

In 2018, Rafi played 'Rez' in Bradley Cooper's directorial debut, a modern re-telling of A Star Is Born opposite Cooper and Lady Gaga, which was one of 2018's most celebrated films. A Star Is Born earned eight Academy Award nominations including 'Best Picture', five Golden Globe nominations, including 'Best Picture', four SAG Award nominations, including 'Best Performance by an Ensemble in a Motion Picture', nine Critics Choice Award nominations, including ‘Best Picture’ and was named AFI’s ‘Movie of the Year’ Award.

Variety praised Rafi’s performance stating: "Rafi Gavron’s terrific performance as Rez, the tough-love manager, is a great example of what’s so compelling about the new “Star Is Born.” We’ve seen this character — slick, British, corporate — before, and he’s always played as an insidious pest who symbolizes the big sellout. But that’s not the way Gavron plays him. He makes Rez a smart and compelling straight shooter, and the movie never caricatures him as a sleaze. “

Some of his other feature credits include the Sony/Screen Gems comedy Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist opposite Michael Cera and Kat Dennings and one of the leads in New Line’s family fantasy Inkheart, directed by Iain Softley and co-starring Brendan Fraser, Paul Bettany, and Helen Mirren. He then starred in the Summit/ Lionsgate feature Snitch opposite Dwayne Johnson for director Ric Roman Wagh, and independent features Celeste and Jesse Forever with Rashida Jones and The Land alongside Erykah Badu and Michael K. Williams for director Steven Caple Jr. Rafi’s television credits include recurring roles in the Starz's thriller series Counterpart opposite Oscar Winner, J.K. Simmons, Amazon's Homecoming opposite Julia Roberts, HBO's Rome, NBC’s critically acclaimed drama series Parenthood, drama series LIfe Unexpected alongside Britt Robertson and Fox’s action drama series 24 opposite Kiefer Sutherland.

Gavron resides between London and Los Angeles.
