Ellen Barkin

Tony® and Emmy® award winning actress Ellen Barkin has played roles ranging from abusive mothers to sultry femme fatales. Her diverse body of work spans theater, film, and television. Barkin will next be seen in THE COBBLER, starring Adam Sandler, Steve Buscemi, and Dustin Hoffman. She also stars in HANDS OF STONE alongside Robert De Niro. Barkin was seen alongside Demi Moore and Dakota Fanning in the independent film VERY GOOD GIRLS. In 2012, she made her television debut in NBC's comedy THE NEW NORMAL.

Barkin has had an illustrious acting career comprised of more than 50 filmes, including Sam Levinson's Sundance winner ANOTHER HAPPY DAY; Cam Archer's SHIT YEAR; Steven Soderbergh's Ocean's 13; Todd Solondz's PALINDROMES; Antoine Fuqua's BROOKLYN'S FINEST; THIS BOY'S LIFE opposite De Niro and Leonardo DiCaprio; Spike Lee's SHE HATE ME; Tony Scott's THE FAN opposite De Niro; Walter Hill's JOHNNY HANDSOME; WILD BILL opposite Jeff Bridges; and SEA OF LOVE opposite Al Pacino. Additional credits include DROP DEAD GORGEOUS, FEAR AND LOATHING IN LAS VEGAS, INTO THE WEST, MAN TROUBLE, MAC, THE BIG EASY, SWITCH, DOWN BY LAW, TENDER MERCIES, and DANIEL. Her first film and breakout performance was in Barry Levinson's iconic film DINER.

In 2011, Barkin received the prestigious Tony® award for her performance in George C. Wolfe's Broadway production of Larry Kramer's award-winning play THE NORMAL HEART. Her critically lauded performance also garnered her an Outer Critics Circle award, a Theatre World award, and a Drama Desk award, among others. Barkin received an Outstanding Lead Actress in a miniseries or a movie Emmy® award for her performance in Oprah Winfrey's BEFORE WOMEN HAD WINGS. She has been nominated twice for the Golden Globe® award.
