Željko Ivanek earned a 2008 Emmy Award for his portrayal of Ray Fiske on Damages. Other notable television work includes recurring roles on Big Love, True Blood, Heroes, Banshee, Homicide: Life On The Street, 24 and Oz as well as the mini-series John Adams. He recently completed six seasons as a series regular on Madam Secretary.
Ivanek has also done much film work, starting with Mass Appeal opposite Jack Lemmon, Ridley Scott’s The Last Duel, Black Hawk Down and Hannibal, Martin McDonagh’s Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri and In Bruges in addition to roles in Argo, Dogville, Unfaithful, Dancer in the Dark, A Civil Action and Donnie Brasco.
Ivanek’s many stage credits have earned him three Tony nominations and a Drama Desk Award and include American, UK, and World premieres of works by Martin McDonagh, Neil LaBute, Athol Fugard, Neil Simon, Richard Nelson, Caryl Churchill and David Hare, as well as Peter Brook’s production of The Cherry Orchard.
Ivanek is a graduate of Yale University and The London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art.
