Stephen Jackson is a 14-year NBA veteran and NBA champion who was drafted in the second round and had to earn his stripes overseas before getting a chance in the NBA. Jackson was a key member of the 2003 NBA champion San Antonio Spurs, drilling several clutch fourth-quarter shots. An emotional player who wore his heart on his sleeve, Jackson’s NBA career was marred in controversy, but to those who played alongside him and against him, he was lauded as a tremendous teammate. Jackson teamed up with co-host Matt Barnes on the 2007 “We Believe” Golden State Warriors when the eighth-seeded team labeled as a group of misfits pulled off perhaps the greatest upset in NBA history, beating the top-seeded Dallas Mavericks in the opening round of the playoffs.
Jackson has emerged as budding media star via ALL THE SMOKE. Previously known as one of the most ferocious competitors on the NBA hardwood, he has quickly made his mark as one of the most candid, bold and relevant voices in sports media. ALL THE SMOKE launched in 2019 and quickly gained acclaim with a broad, vibrant audience for its authentic, unfiltered perspectives. The series established a prominent voice in sports media with in-depth, provocative interviews with top players and luminaries covering topics including the X’s and O’s of basketball, its history, history makers, cultural influence, reflection, social justice, politics, music and more.
