Affable hit man Melvin Smiley (Mark Wahlberg) undertakes a kidnapping job with his fellow assassins to pay off his second girlfriend’s debt. However, the mission backfires when their victim, the daughter of an electronics mogul, turns out to be the godchild of their boss. Romantic misadventures ensue as Mel finds himself dodging bullets – all the while trying to keep his job a secret from his unsuspecting fiancée (Christina Applegate).
