A documentary following the rise of the Outlaw Country movement in Texas and Tennessee during the mid-1970’s. Inspired by enigmatic personality Willie Nelson and a younger generation of musical artists like Townes Van Zandt, David Allan Coe, Steve Earle and Guy Clark, the outlaw sound borrowed from rock, folk and bluegrass with an edge that was missing from mainstream Nashville music at the time. The new style of gritty country music helped change the course of history.
