Street Smart

In order to save his job, ambitious big-city journalist Jonathan Fisher (Christopher Reeve) reports an allegedly true story about a murderous pimp. Fisher's piece makes him an overnight media star, but he's hiding a secret: he invented both the pimp and his fictional exploits. Unfortunately, a real-life pimp named Fast Black (Morgan Freeman) thinks he's the basis of the story, and homicide detectives trying to put Fast Black behind bars agree.
