Lane (John Cusack) resolves to commit suicide after his girlfriend dumps him for the arrogant captain of the ski team. Along with his quirky family and friends, Lane’s unsuccessful attempts to end his life continue to lead him into more awkward and embarrassing situations, ultimately culminating in a race that has unexpected results.
