The Remains of the Day

An English butler (Anthony Hopkins) who has devoted 30 years to Lord Darlington, realizes as he looks back on his life that his unquestioning faith in his master has cost him dearly; forcing him to neglect his dying father and deny his feelings for the attractive young housekeeper, Miss Kenton (Emma Thompson), all in service to his employer's grand banquets and receptions.
