Natashya is an award-winning multimedia journalist and current Editor in Chief of VICE World News in Asia-Pacific. She oversees editorial teams across Australia, Indonesia, India, Hong Kong, Pakistan, the Philippines, Singapore, Japan and Cambodia.
She has lived in and reported from across the region, covering stories on conflict and human rights like the war against ISIS in the Philippines, terror attacks in Indonesia, female genital mutilation in Singapore, and inequalities in Afghanistan. Before VICE, she was part of the founding team of Rappler, an independent news outlet in the Philippines, where her investigations focused on underreported issues like underground abortion practices, state-sponsored disinformation, and the country’s silent incest problem.
She is the recipient of the Society of Publishers in Asia Awards for reporting on women's issues, the Human Rights Press Award, and the Asia Journalism Fellowship. She has been selected as one of Asia's emerging young leaders by the Asia Foundation.
