Ten years after her first encounter with the Terminator, Sarah (Linda Hamilton) has given birth to a son and become a very different person. Now she and her son John (Edward Furlong) combat a new, more deadly cyborg that has been sent back in time to destroy John. To protect the boy, the human resistance sends another warrior from the future, a Terminator (Arnold Schwarzenegger) programmed to be as relentless in its defense of John as its advanced cyborg foe is in its pursuit of man's last hope for survival.
